2001-2002 SQUIRE HIGH SCHOOL FRESHMAN AND TRANSFER LIST
This list features some impact players and future stars. Freshman players Jeffrey Fitzgerald, Gregory Redford and Jameel Sewell will start for the Hermitage HS jv according to coach Tim Lewis. Fitzgerald and Redford could suit up for the varsity during the playoffs. If Hermitage was not so loaded this year they would play varsity. Fitzgerald and Redford are both future stars and D1 prospects.... Tyrese Rice will be the starting point guard for the Loyd Bird HS jv... Richard Graham should see spot duty on the St. Christopher's varsity.... Freshman Joshua Vaughan and transfer Marcus Brooks will have an immediate impact at Collegiate. Brooks will start and Vaughan should join him in the starting lineup after the first few games.... Keith Searles will be a bright new addition to Atlee HS..... Earl Wilson Jr., will see some time on the varsity at Brunswick HS. He is an excellent leaper and very strong around the basket.....SQUIRE transfer players will all have immediate impact at their new schools. As reported earlier Vern Hamilton is at Benedictine playing both football and basketball. It looks like he might also be an impact player on the football field scoring a touchdown in his first varsity start. However, basketball is his first love and he will be the catalyst in leading the cadets to a state Catholic championship. Major D1 prospect.... Posey, Barrett and Johnson will join a strong Notre Dame Academy team that will be one the top prep teams in Virginia. Posey is beginning to attract major college attention..... Dana Burns is the missing link that might help Blue Ridge Academy dethrone Oak Hill.....Antwon Vaughan could have a major impact at Trinity. He could be one of their top scorer.....Henry and Calloway will make Coastal Christian the top private school in the Tidewater area. Calloway a major D1 recruit and Henry should begin to attract attention....We will have regular updates on all SQUIRE players during the season.
