20 Year Congrats Tony
Congratulations
and best wishes from Dave Telep
Take time to think about just how long 20 years is. How many major leaguers play 20 years in the pros? For that matter, how many professional athletes remain with the same team for a decade? I’d like to congratulate Tony Squire for sticking with his team since 1988 and giving the kids in Richmond and beyond an outlet for their passion. Tony’s traveling team program is about opportunity. For some it’s the chance of a lifetime to play on a team. For others, it’s a stopping point along their road to success in high school and college basketball and beyond! Opportunity for today’s youth is a powerful weapon. Opportunity creates hope and through basketball, Tony and his team have given immense opportunities to the kids in his hometown. Tony’s had great players, guys who have made a lot of money playing this game. He’s also had players whose final game ended with the whistle of a high school referee. No matter the talent level, each was given a chance through Tony’s Richmond Squires program. Tony, congratulations on your first 20 years. The challenge will be to maintain the excellence for 20 more!
