Ronald Xavier Peterson known as Ron Pete to the Squires organization became a valued family member in 1982. He was in many ways the core of the organization who served as coach and mentor to many young men who came through the organization. He was the liaison between the colleges and players facilitating opportunities, He was a coordinator of the transportation for the player visits to college campus and to key exposure tournaments and camps, and was provider of key content for the organization’s web-site. Ron unselfishly took on many roles as a Squire member and will be truly missed.

Ronald Xavier Peterson was the Assistant Director of Advising/Generalist at the University College at Virginia Commonwealth University during the day but known as Ron Pete to theMr. Peterson, Toni, and coaching staff receieve city award. Ronald Xavier Peterson Squires organization . Ron became a valued family member in 1982 until his untimely departure on June 5, 2010. He was in many ways the silent core of the organization who served as coach and mentor to many young men who came through the organization. He was the liaison between the colleges and players facilitating opportunities, He was a coordinator of the transportation for the player visits to college campus and to key exposure tournaments and camps, and was provider of key content for the organization’s web-site. Ron unselfishly took on many roles as a Squire member and will be truly missed.

Our organization, its coaches, administrative staff, and parents are committed to spiritual and moral growth of boys, creating an environment through the discipline of basketball whereby they can develop into young men who are good citizens, and role models in their family, schools and community.

Did You Know?

Since 1987, more than 400 young men have received scholarships from colleges and universities; 150 have received scholarships to attend prep schools. Some have gained worldwide recognition, including prominent NBA players Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics, and Amare Stoudemire of the Phoenix Suns; two NFL players, Darren Sharper of the Minnesota Vikings and Johnathan Lewis of the Jacksonville Jaguars. In addition, 75 athletics have participated in the International Pro League in Europe.
